In honour of Islamic Heritage Month, Storytelling Alberta Calgary hosted an event called “Stories from the Silk Road…and beyond,” a storytelling concert where attendees were treated to a variety of stories celebrating Islamic heritage. With support through the Government of Alberta’s ethnocultural grant, Storytelling Alberta Calgary also hosted an intercultural exchange (café), building upon the themes of the stories shared. Attendees had the chance to learn about the past, reflect on the present and dream up a future where story could be used to bring people together. The following resources were developed as a result of the event.
