Weather permitting, we'll end the evening with a joyful flourish at The Confluence park with a Round Dance (wâskâsimowin) led by Cree Elder Cheryle Chagnon-Greyeyes. Note: There will be a two-block walk to the Round Dance spot (wheelchair-friendly location).

On Wednesday October 30, join Storytelling Alberta for a unique event in celebration of Islamic Heritage Month. October was designated as Canadian Islamic History Month by the Government of Canada in 2007 and as Canadian Islamic Heritage Month by the Province of Alberta in 2018. 

The first part of this event will feature storytelling performances that will transport guests to the Silk Road…and beyond, offering a sample of Islamic heritage. The second part of the event will provide the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments, meet new people and engage in dialogue to increase intercultural understanding.
