A CULTURE DAYS workshop for those wishing to share their lived experience, their culture, and/or their family stories through an oral narrative.
Participants will learn simple oral storytelling techniques to shape their life lessons into engaging, culture-rich narratives.
Culture is a lived experience transmitted through the elders and absorbed by the young. In Passing the Stories Forward, Storytelling Alberta offers an oral storytelling initiative designed to celebrate Alberta’s cultural diversity and strengthen the "social glue" of our communities. This workshop provides a welcoming space for seniors to validate their personal histories and transform family memories into a "Living Archive" that strengthens our collective civic fabric.

Pearl-Ann Gooding has a love of Wainwright and area which she readily shares through her passion of storytelling. Nationally recognized for her gift of sharing personal and family stories, she is thrilled to facilitate this wonderful workshop to help others find their voices and share their stories!!

Dean Verger's original stories have aired on CBC and CTV. Dean tells tales for all ages; from Thump, Thump, Thump, Squish, a story for children, to his concert length storytelling adaptations of Moby Dick and Dracula. Dean has appeared at festivals, in schools, and in libraries. Dean is a performing storyteller, well-known workshop facilitator, retired professor (MacEwan U, Carleton U), amateur musician, and avid reader.
